The cake stall again proved to be the jewel in the crown at the Christmas Fair on Saturday 29 November – netting around £302 of the total of £1,330 raised during the morning.

Those manning the stalls and attractions were kept on their mettle by the steady stream of visitors to the Congress Suite on what was a beautiful late autumn morning (in total contrast to the downpours of 2013!) with the Tombola, Pandora’s Box and Meals for Two proving particularly popular.

One such visitor expressed her delight at being able to achieve much of her Christmas present shopping, and many others went home happy with their wins on the raffles and their candle, book, CD/DVD, card, picture and knitted toy acquisitions.

 

Even Toby the Teddy has found a new family.

Chairman, Lesley Raven, expressed her thanks to all those who came along to support the event – both in preparation, helping on the day and to those who dipped so deeply into their pockets to achieve such a pleasing result.
