During the theatre’s closed period, the dress circle bar was given a refurbishment thanks to the efforts of the Friends of the Devonshire Park Theatre and Eastbourne Borough Council. The bright and colourful decor was conceived and co-ordinated by Richard Crook of John D Clarke Architects, who is an expert on Victoria buildings and has a great deal of experience working within theatre complexes.

Credit must also be given to the Friends of the Devonshire Park Theatre DIY team and Theatre Facilities staff, who undertook the refurbishment work, and whose efforts and hard work have produced a great result.

Work was also undertaken on the auditorium mens toilets, which have been renovated to a standard of decor in keeping with the rest of the theatre.
